Who we are and what this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME] of [BUSINESS ADDRESS] (“Booktific”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use booktific.com (the “Platform”). We follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and the rules of the National Privacy Commission (NPC) of the Philippines.

For the personal information described here, Booktific is the “personal information controller”.

What information we collect

If you are a guest and you send a booking

  • Your name, mobile number, and email address;
  • Your booking details: the listing, dates, number of guests, and any message to the owner;
  • Your payment method and the proof of payment you upload, such as a screenshot or PDF. This may show your name, your account or mobile number, and the amount.

If you are an owner (host)

  • Your name, mobile number, email address, and password (stored in protected form);
  • Your business name, location, and plan;
  • Your listing details, such as photos, descriptions, rates, and availability;
  • Your payment details for the plan fee, and the payment details you show to guests so they can pay you.

From everyone who visits

  • Technical information, such as your device, browser, pages visited, and approximate location from your internet connection;
  • Cookies and similar tools (see section 8).

We do not ask for more information than we need. Please do not upload anything in your proof of payment that is not needed, such as a government ID.

Why we use your information

  • To process bookings and send them to the right owner;
  • To email you about your booking, such as confirmation or a decline;
  • To create and run owner accounts, listings, plans, and billing;
  • To prevent fraud, check proofs of payment, and keep the Platform safe;
  • To answer your questions and give support;
  • To understand how the Platform is used and to improve it;
  • To follow the law.

We use your information because you give it to us to make a booking or to open an account, because we need it to provide the service, and because the law may require it. Where we need your consent, we ask for it, and you may take it back at any time.

Who we share it with

  • The owner of the listing you book. We share your name, mobile number, email, booking details, and proof of payment with that owner so they can review and confirm your booking. Owners may use this information only to handle your booking.
  • Service providers that help us run the Platform, such as web hosting, email delivery, and security services. They may use the information only to give us their service.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people from fraud or harm.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, and as the law requires. For example, we keep [booking records and proofs of payment for ___ months or years, and owner account records for ___ after the account closes]. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

We use reasonable organizational, physical, and technical measures to protect your information, such as password protection, limiting who can see proofs of payment and other private files, and secure connections to the Platform. No system is completely safe. If a data breach affects you, we will tell you and the NPC as the law requires.
